A mobile-first field app designed to support on-site team leaders in organizing teams, attendance, and tasks. Tracking progress and communicating constraints, tightly integrated with centralized project planning and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) workflows.
Client: MAHI Technologies / QED
Industry: Construction Tech, Field Operations
Overview
Construction sites are fast-moving environments where plans change daily, yet team leaders often lack digital tools tailored to their reality. The “My Work” app was created as a lightweight but powerful interface for on-site supervisors to log completed tasks, flag issues, and sync with the broader planning team, all within MAHI’s unified construction management ecosystem.
Scope of Work
- UX design for task management and site reporting
- Mobile-first UI optimized for real-world use in the field
- Integration with MAHI’s WBS-driven planning dashboard
- Design system contributions for scalable feature growth
Approach
The design process started with deep immersion into the daily routines of team leaders, including time-and-motion studies, pain point mapping, and co-design sessions. Key needs included:
- A quick and clear view of daily tasks and progress
- The ability to document work done and raise blockers in real time
- A simple way to sync inputs with planners and stakeholders, without duplicating work
We designed a modular interface featuring:
- Task checklists and progress logging
- Constraint reporting with attached media (photos, notes)
- Status indicators synced with WBS structures for planners
- Offline-first capability for low-connectivity environments
The app became a communication bridge — allowing frontline workers to feed directly into the centralized MAHI platform, which served engineers, project managers, and planning leads.
Impact
- Increased transparency between field operations and project planning
- Reduced delays caused by miscommunication or undocumented constraints
- Enabled planning teams to adjust schedules and resources in near real time
- Empowered team leaders with a reliable tool tailored to their workflow
